A messy divorce turned violent Sunday when a Boynton Beach man allegedly shot his wife’s lover after walking in on them together in Boca Raton.

The victim’s family disputed the police account of the incident.

Joseph Montique, 34, walked out of the house with a gun in hand whenBoca Raton police arrived at the 2800 block of Northwest 25th Way that evening, police said. His wife was covered in a bloody T-shirt, and her lover lay in a nearby yard with six gunshot wounds in his chest, stomach and an arm, according to a Boca Ratonpolice arrest report.
